As the sun goes down the party starts. I was struck by this street scene in Clifton (Bristol) and it’s similarities to Nighthawks by Edward Hopper.
Subsequent to finishing the painting someone told me that it really reminded them of Van Gogh’s “Terrace at Night”, which I can’ believe I hadn’t realised!
