I've had a great spring with North Street Gallery and it seems they've enjoyed it too, so I am delighted to share with you that I will also be in the gallery for the summer period of May-July, so do come in and see me and my work. I will be updating things for May, so come along for a fresh look.

|
On the easel at the moment is something different. You're old enough to remember "Tank Man" I'm sure (if not, do look it up).
|
In this depiction, the burnt out bus is as real as Tank Man. A quiet symbolism of people power.
|
This painting is really about the paper tiger threat that governments wield over the people, and the power of the people if they stand up.
|
There will be heart and star motifs to show audience interactions. The star echoing the tank symbol - a nod to TikTok being a CCP asset.
|
The interactions reflect the anodyne reaction people have to the horrors of the world as a result of desensitisation via the internet.
|
|
|
I'm setting it in a social media framework to reflect the idea that the threat and need to control is more subtle and pervasive now than then.
|
I want this piece to be the first in a series that reflects on the world we live in. I hope that they will "punch up" and look great doing it.
