New Exhibition

As a member of the Bristol Plein Air Painters, I am taking part in the inaugural Exhibition, which opens on Monday. It runs Monday 8th June until Sunday 14th June.
Come along to see art (with an option to buy), from local Bristol artists.

I wasn't entirely satisfied with the painting and felt it needed another layer to anchor it. Can you spot what I did?

I wanted to juxtapose the 80s setting with the TikTok interface and add a voyeuristic note - remembering that you are watching this unfold impassively on social media. So I've added a hint of scan lines that you get from watching taped recordings... I hope you like it.

"Only Views"
I'm currently working on the next painting in the series. I'm certainly pushing the narrative here and being a bit risky - but hey - that's the purpose of the series!

I've not got much more to add here - a special rogue is going in the screen nearest "Pearl" - I'm just deciding whether to add this person, and also debating whether their inclusion tips this into something different... you'll be the first to find out!
Oh yes, almost forgot! The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted that this isn't the first time I've painted "The Girl with a Peal Earring"... it's available, although I've grown fond of her.
