Neil Watson – Post-corporate-captive artist, making up for lost time Neil is a Bristol-based artist (oil painter) who had a love for art taught out of him at school. The pressure of getting a ‘proper career’ led him away from art at an early age and he didn’t draw, or paint anything for well over twenty years.
During lockdown Neil found a box of paints from his A-Levels in 1994 and realised that most were still ok to paint with, so in 2020 he bought a canvas and some brushes and he reacquainted himself with his first love.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and so now, in mid-life Neil has a youthful hunger to paint. This raw, un-polished energy drives his work to create vibrant scenes of Bristol and beyond.
*Corporate-Captive – one of the very many artists who were told to get a proper job rather than following their purpose – art.
